Located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in upstate New York, Dover is a quaint rural town with a population of 8,500. In efforts to provide Dover's residents with a space to remain active during the long winter months, the town engaged KSQ to create a concept design for a new community recreation center and sports complex. The 41,550 SF facility includes a regulation-size basketball court, a padded turf indoor soccer field, meeting rooms, offices, a multi-function commercial kitchen, and locker rooms. 

To create an atmosphere of holistic living, the design incorporates ample natural light and energy-efficient appliances. Intentional circulation design encourages movement between spaces and promotes interaction among guests. The barn-shaped exterior references the equestrian and agricultural heritage of Dutchess County. The Town of Dover will hold a referendum in late Spring of 2024.
