The Peck School
Learning for Life
Located in Morristown, New Jersey, The Peck School serves as a private day school with an enrollment of approximately 330 Kindergarten through eighth-grade students. The school boasts a motto of “Disciplina ad Vivendum”-- “Learning For Life.” The Peck School was specifically designed with young inventors, explorers, scientists, and artists in mind. With access to creative learning spaces and modern technology, students can adopt a foundational love for learning that they carry with them for a lifetime, making the potential of education boundless.
The school hopes to build upon its motto by preparing students for their years beyond classroom education. Through conceptual designs in the form of a master plan, KSQ established recommendations to reach the client’s goals, including the approach of taking down a building to open space for further alterations. Emphasizing the STEAM model (science, technology, education, art, and math), KSQ proposed plans focused on fostering creativity while preparing students for an ever-evolving global and technology-driven world.
The proposed plans encompass the creation of a maker space, where students can gather to create, invent, and learn collaboratively. Additionally, innovative features include a combined performance space and dining facility. The master plan also allocates space for new offices, playgrounds, and a student commons, all contributing to an enriched educational environment.
