The Project

KSQ was selected to design a luxury multifamily property at 255 4th Avenue offering highly coveted split bedroom and three bedroom apartment homes in Brooklyn. KSQ provided architecture and interior design services and created C560–a 12-story boutique-scaled building with intersecting angles and volumes accommodating balconies, garden spaces, and a roof deck offering a 360 degree views from Red Hook, through Manhattan, and back to Prospect Park South.

Located on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Carroll Street, C560 is at the commercial border of Park Slope. Heralded as “The Most Livable Neighborhood in New York” by New York Magazine, Park Slope is part of northwest Brooklyn and known for its diverse retail, exemplary public schools, and green spaces. KSQ included the outdoor spirit of Park Slope with garden spaces, a shared roof deck, balconies and cabanas in the building’s design.

The façade weaves colors and materials (glass, brick, metal, and stone) from the surrounding neighborhood while offering its own modern vibe and dramatic impact.

C560 also acknowledges the commercial aspect of its location and has double-paned high-efficiency windows with casement and awning projections, and wide plank American Maple hardwood floors laid over a soundproofing system for noise reduction and resident comfort.

Residents have bicycle storage in the building and are two blocks from the subway, three subway stops from Manhattan, and one block away from the shops and amenities on Fifth Avenue.

The building has a mix of studios, one, two and three bedroom apartment homes, as well as penthouses. A total of 49 homes were created in this 65,000 SF multifamily project that offers high-end living, quality finishes and ample space for growing families.

The kitchens have honed absolute black granite counter-tops, Blum hardware, solid white oak stained cabinetry, and full Bosch kitchen appliances. Every residence has an in-unit Bosch washer and dryer, coffered ceilings, low-VOC paints, low e-coating on insulated windows (to provide natural light while minimizing heat), video intercom, basement storage, and zoned energy efficient climate controls.

KSQ Managing Principal Armand Quadrini, AIA, LEED AP, led the project and C560 was “almost sold out after roughly three months on the market, with 27 units closed and 12 in contract,” according to The Real Deal.
